Work Experience:
In 2002, I began a three-year internship in the marketing department of Heritage Federal Credit Union. I produced graphic design work for the credit union, including signs, postcards, community ads, web graphics, operational materials and annual reports. In 2005, I transitioned into a full-time position as the Marketing / Graphic Design Specialist and took over website and intranet responsibilities, the children's club, and helped with marketing events and the website redesign. I brought additional projects in-house, saving the credit union time and money. After moving to Pittsburgh in 2006, I began to expand my skills into web design. I've designed over 250 websites for Universal Technologies, Inc., a leader in website and obituary design for the deathcare industry. I've designed and built websites for funeral homes across the country, as well as many local companies in the Pittsburgh area. I enjoy creating a unique look for each small business and giving them a great tool to reach their customers.
Education:
I graduated from the University of Evansville in 2005, with a BS in Visual Communication and minors in Studio Art, Business Administration and Mass Communication. The Visual Communication degree is a combination of Graphic Design and Mass Communication programs. My classes included computer graphics, typography, publication design, imaging and illustration, online media, advertising, public relations, design and many other studio art classes. In 2004, I participated in several activities related to my field. I co-designed the LinC yearbook, laid out the Evansville Review literary journal, and built a website for the UE chapter of Kappa Pi Honorary Art Fraternity.
